Page 9 will be posted for our update on the 1st of November on schedule. Keith and I just need to get together and discuss dialogue. Hopefully Keith will have time to do what he wants to do with Battle of Heg and we'll have a nice big update. Keith and I have been really busy lately - he's working three jobs and I'm hot on the job hunt 'cause the freelance stuff isn't paying the bills at the moment. So Steve is really the only one whose on the ball right now. That'll change shortly, but we'll at least keep our 1st of the month updates on time for now.

Thanks, I've got a few pretty intriguing prospects right now - tech support at a communications company, records management at a construction company, and computer repair at a computer store, plus freelance work popping up is always a possibility. I've actually got a friend of a friend who runs a graphics business and he mentioned something about me doing a few movie trailers for him because he's too busy to do them but it's been almost a month and I haven't heard anything about it since so...yeah. That's how freelance work goes though. It'll rock if I do get those jobs though, they're supposed to pay handsomely.

Yeah unfortunately I have been a really busy guy of late. Not to worry though, im not going anywhere. The battle of heg stuff tron spoke of refers to a minor setback I endured after finally getting the original source material that the battle of heg came from. It turns out that some of the things in my heg story contradict things in an old WEG adventure module, so I have to go back and make some changes. Rest assured though, I will soon update the story by reposting chapters 1 through 4 and posting an all new chapter 5!

In the meantime, our story is finally getting into full swing as we meet the members of Cracken's Crew. Breen and Forim steal the spotlight on page 9, as steve said, and the rest of the 22 page first issue will introduce the rest of our heroes and get them set on their adventure for the rest of the series!

I've missed everyone

Postby Scriado » Fri, May 26th, 2006 - 5:58 pm GMT

Hello everyone, Steve here. I have been away for a little and am excited to being close to getting back on schedule for Cracken's Crew and other new projects for Fandom Comics. Since I've been gone I haven't been able to check on the site and see how everything is going. <p>I was very excited to see the release and the intro to the new comic. The site is really growing thanks to Ryan and everyone involved. I have to read up on a lot of stuff going on in here. I haven't stopped practicing though and have some pretty cool new samples which once I have a couple more done post up in the Sketchbook area, Tj should put some more stuff on sketchbooks too, I would like to see some of his older work. Anyway I am glad to be back and excited for the new things happening here @ Fandom Comics.

Issue #1 Thumbs are done, man.

Postby Scriado » Wed, June 7th, 2006 - 6:24 pm GMT

Yes, the rest of the pages for issue 1 are sketched out. The initial stage is done, although I have to make major revisions on most of them past page 18. Smooth sailing now, as long as I have a road map to go by, I'm good. I grabbed a couple 'drawing comics' books and see improvements in my perspective and gestures. Yeah!!!

I am still fighting with the style for issue 2. It's getting me excited to do some painting type stuff. I have been using Painter 9.5 a lot recently and it's far less technical than photoshop but thats a good thing. Wouldn't it be cool to see fully painted panels, I haven't seen a fancomic like that yet. In a couple weeks I'll post a new sketchbook with samples of the style I want to use. I would say similar to Issue #1 cover but a tad looser as far as the linework and with way better light and shadows.

Anyway, hope you like the comics and resource material and promote the hell out of us when you can.
Clear Skies, Steve.

It's been too long...

Hello everyone Steve here, Artist for Crackens Crew Invisible War. I wanted to drop a line to tell everyone I am back working on the rest of the pages for Issue 1. I have been silent for quite awhile dealing with personal issues but I am back currently finishing up page 18. I haven't been able to draw for the past several months so I am a bit rusty. Thank you everyone for your patience.

Hello Everyone, Steve here again. I hope everyone had a great holiday. I have finished work on issue #1 and am taking a small break (again!!?) to refine my illustration work. My new favorite thing is lighting and I have been progressing quite well. Issue #2 is going to look a little more like the end of Issue #1 with a more painted style. For those of you who visit http://www.swagonline.com you will be familiar with my most recent stuff. I can't stand inking and am taking my linework out for the next issue. I'm also thinking about doing everything digital, from thumbs to finals so no scans or pencil scribbles. I am also in the process of opening my site that will have many new images and works that have a Star Wars style to them. I do have some big plans for May 25th, 2008 which will open Darkfall, check it out @ http://www.criadoart.com this is a temporary site so excuse the lack of design. Once again thank all of you for your continued support and Clear Skies!

Haven't been here in a bit. Hi everyone, I wanted to post a quick reply that I am back and will be posting new artwork shortly. My time away has given me the chance to learn new techniques and refine my styles. I am excited to contribute to the site again and look forward to all the new stuff the group is working on.
